Obituary of Florence Levesque
Florence M. Levesque, 72, Widow of Donald Levesque, passed away on April 4, 2020 at NYU Hospital.
Florence is a native New Yorker, born to Joseph and Emily DeRosa on June 30, 1947.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survived by her children Thomas, Phillip, Michelle and Florence and her grandchildren Thomas, Carlos, Emily and Julia.
As the oldest sister, she cared for her older brothers and younger sisters and helped them to grow. She married Donald at 16 and together they raised their 4 children with a firm hand and a warm heart, teaching them to think and be confident in themselves. Overcoming Life’s obstacles together with common sense, determination, and a love that grew stronger with every passing year.
Florence was a wonderful homemaker and in 2006 became a Crossing guard in the NYPD 13th Precinct, where she cared for children, parents, school administrators and strangers on the street. Making sure they were safe. She always expressed her love for her work, crossing children by the FDR for the UN International School and near 21st for P.S. 40.
Florence will always be remembered, loved and respected by all she knew.
