Shirley and Steve,
I feel honored to have had the opportunity to get to know Chloe while she was with us at Lexington High School. Her persistence, strength, and positivity were there with her every single day despite the challenges confronting her. She taught many of us educators more than we taught her, of that I am sure. She will not be forgotten. I send my condolences to you both during this difficult time.
Best,

Chloe Hewitt was the kindest, hardest-working, most engaging student I have taught in many years—in a phrase: all-around wonderful. She will be sorely missed by her teachers and fellow students, and especially her fellow History of Art Majors, at MassArt, a place she lit up with her good heart, her good will, her inexhaustible positive energy. A model to us all!

Kassidy and I enjoyed “coffee and cookies” at the Ronald with Chloe and her mom many times. I always looked forward to hanging out with them after a long day at the hospital! No matter what Chloe was facing, she always asked how WE were doing.. I believe Kassidy got a lot of her courage from Chloe. She was surely an inspirational young woman. Shirley and Steve, you've been the family that I have known the longest from Ronald McDonald House over my 13 years there. I found out that this evening that she and I shared something in common, we are both graduates of Mass Art - she as an Art History Major and I was Illustration and Design. As a family you've always been dutiful and thoughtful of one another and I have always admired that of you. On behalf of my husband Morris, may we express our heartfelt condolences and hope that you will find comfort in your memories and the love that is Chloe's legacy.

No words will ever do justice to the impact Chloe has left on this earth. I have tons of lovely wonderful memories, but I also clearly remember meeting Chloe and Shirley for the first time - it was a beautiful Friday night and we were at the park. Chloe and I were chatting about all the cool places she has lived, and once we all piled into the van we all made the Greek connection :) Even though it was the first time we met I knew Chloe was a very special and brave girl. Shirley & Steve, my deep condolences. Chloe will live on in warm memories for many of us. May her memory be eternal.

Chloe was such a sweet girl. She was shy, but bold when she needed to be and had no fears of making sure her point was heard. She was a vital part of my lunch crew in high school.
My favorite memory of her was when she was struggling to open a bottle of lotion and decided to use her teeth, when that worked and the bottle opened - lotion shot out all over her face and upper body. She was shocked. Sarah and I chuckled because, well, what did you expect? We all had a good laugh from that.
She was a great storyteller with a pure soul that brought us a lot of laughter.
My heart goes out to you in this time.
I am sorry to hear of Chloe's passing, but thankful to have known her. May she rest in peace.

I almost don't remember a time when Chloe and her family wasn't a part of my life. We met in China in '96 and our families were inseperable. Chloe was just a baby and she quickly became my little sister. So much of my childhood was filled with the Hewitts, from shopping trips, celebrations, and vacations. Even when our families were apart, we were always in contact. I watched her grow and maybe added to her mischievous spirit. I babysat her and my own brother together, the pair of them were always finding trouble and laughs and I was usually chasing after them and laughing along with them. Chloe was always a beautiful ray of sunshine in my life and everyone's she encountered. When I got married she was there and my day was made complete and perfect because of that. She was the bravest and strongest person I ever met and I'm so glad to have had the privilege to know someone that strong in my life. I don't know that I will ever find another soul that so embodied courage the way that Chloe did again. My heart is broken for your loss, Steve and Shirley. My heart is broken for my family's loss, we truly lost a daughter and sister. I know she is joyful and at peace now and I look to the day when I can see her again with great hope and faith. I'm so proud to have known her and I am so proud she had the opportunity to know my husband and his family. I love you forever, Chloe.

I was lucky to have Chloe as a drawing student at Massart during her first-year. She created beautiful drawings that were inspired by her world travels with family. The artworks evolved from photographs that Chloe had taken during her journeys. Through the drawing process, Chloe transformed and abstracted her memories. These drawings generously invited viewers to travel with Chloe to her favorite places, in a way that photographs couldn't. They made a strong impression on me.
I offer my deepest condolences to the family.
