Harry and I go way back. 60+ years.
We both married “Marymount Girls”. We were two lucky guys! I often called Harry “Big Guy” and he sometimes called me “Tass”.
Spending time with Harry was very very special for my wife Giovanna, my children Ciro, Jr. , Alicia and Christopher, and me. Too many good times with Harry and Kathleen to enumerate here but a few special ones stand out:
The big city big guy came with his young family to visit the country folks in Orange, CT. An interest in our new home, budding family and the “big backyard “. A long driveway ... with grass on both sides ... and kids could ride the hot wheels - up and down the driveway, up and down, up and down ... All day ! A joyous day!
My 60 year birthday party which Harry helped arrange:
NY City bash. Drinks at Grand Central Station. Limo rides. Pre- dinner Sushi. Dinner at Gramercy Tavern. Some after dinner Stolis at some “Russian Bar”. And topped of with a 2 AM breakfast at a favorite NY diner Harry selected.
And then there was the special boat ride. Harry, Kathleen, G and I and all the kids ... a boat ride around the Island of Manhattan ... all the way around , country folk with city folk, with a stop right in front of the Statue of Liberty. Serious!!!
Great memory.
And a not to far past conversation about our eyes ... surgeries. A genuine concern and caring interest about what I had to deal with.
As the years went on , and how they have gone on so quickly, Harry always showed an interest in our children. Where they were. How life was going for them.
A big guy!
A BIG personality!
A big sharing heart!
Will miss you “Big Guy”
