Enso Pisaneschi had a long time friendship with Michael Clandorf going back to the 1930's when Mike would visit in the summers at Enso's family house at 616 Sperling Street, West Wyoming, PA. In the early 40's before the war he helped in summers working at the Italian Consumer Co-op Association, a grocery and general store with Enso's older brother Orfeo. Between picking coal from piles and the store work they would earn enough pennies to be able to buy enough gas for the short trip to Hanson's Amusement Park at Harvey's Lake. After the war they stayed in contact as pen pals sharing Christmas cards yearly.
The photo on left is Enso in 1935
The photo in the right is both Enso and Mike with "the girls" about 1939. (Enso far left, Mike far right)

Michael and I were neighbors who never actually met, yet we had a rich telephone friendship. Through those conversations I grew to know a man whose occasional gruff tone could not mask his golden heart. Speaking with Michael always left me with a smile on my face. He loved every part of his life, especially his children and grandchildren. Michael journeyed through this life with dignity and grace. He was one of a kind, and will be sorely missed.
Sending love and prayers to the family
Warmest regards
Ann Neumann

Dear Clandorf's,
My memory of your dad was how happy he was playing Golf with me and my Dad. He would not stop talking about his grandson Kyle. He loved that kid, Kyle made him young and more vibrant.
He lived a long life to see his sons also still living long happy lives. And even though he lived to 97, you still get blind sided with his death.
I feel your Loss and will say prayers for him.
Be well Clandorfs and stay strong.

To the Clandorf family, My deepest condolences on your loss. I never met Mikes dad but I know him very well through his son. His memory will live on in eternity through Mike since I know how great a man Mike is and how good a friend he is. That can only come from the shining example of his father. The elder Mikes spirit and wisdom will continue through his son Mike and his grandson Kyle. So while we mourn Mr. Clandorfs body passing into the next world, we can take comfort that his spirit and his example will live on in his sons and grandsons and be passed on from generation to generation. To Mike, Mildred and Kyle as well as the rest of the Clandorf family, my deepest condolences and prayers.

OMG... so sad so sad so sad... We spoke about your dad at length on phone very recently ... though I never had the chance and opportunity to meet your dad in person.. you always filled that vacuum for me through your loving and caring words about your Dad.. That brought him so close to my heart and I could never refrain myself from bringing your dad's topic during our conversations . Dad is so very unique to all of us and your dad is certainly very lucky to have a jewel like son like you.. I am still in shock and my deepest and heartfelt condolences to you and family during this tough time.. feeling deeply to be by your side during this grieving period.

To Mike, and family: Having never met your dad, I was shocked when I saw his photo, because you look so much like him. Your parents must have known that when you were born, because they gave you your father's name. (Which is unusual, for the youngest.) I know that you and your dad were very close, and not just geographically. I'm sure that even as his memory was failing, he knew everything that you did for him these past few years. That is all any of us could ever ask for of a son. (For you to be so devoted, he must have been a great dad to you, and you are fortunate for that.)
It's going to be tough for you to establish a new daily routine without him in it, but as you go through the coming days and weeks, try to remember the good times you and the family had with him. I hope they comfort you.
